Laura van der Heijden - Programme

Laura van der Heijden made a stunning entrance onto the national stage after winning the 2012 BBC Young Musician of the Year final at the Sage Gateshead at the tender age of 15.  Her final performance of the Walton Cello Concerto made compelling viewing with an astonishingly mature interpretation and the most gorgeous tonal colour range.  The lucky audience in The Sage Gateshead's Hall One that night will have known at that moment that a new star had appeared in the sky.
